FMF Foods Limited today gave $80,000 sponsorship for the upcoming 2016 FMF Chow Games and they have been the sponsors of the game since 2007.
FMF Group Marketing Manager Poonam Pritika says this is a special year as the Fiji 7s team won gold at Rio and that in itself is an inspiration for many young athletes adding the Games brings together the talent of many young athletes.
Games Secretary Patrick Bower says they have trained their officials during their special workshop organized by FMF Chow in association with Athletics Fiji.
This will be the first time the Northern Division will have photo finish and the electronic timing system.
The Western Division FMF Chow Championship will be held at Lawaqa Park on the 11th and 12th of next month with Navosa, Nadi, Nadroga, Lautoka, Ba/Tavua and Ra taking part.
Bower says the Northern Division Championship will be held at Subrail Park on the 15th and 16th of next month where Macuata North, Labasa 1, Labasa 2, Seaqaqa, Dreketi, Bua 1, Bua 2, Bua 3, Cakau East, Wailevu, Buca Bay and Taveuni will contest.
The Central Division FMF Chow Games will be held at the ANZ Stadium on the 18th and 19th of next month with Suva 1, Suva 2, Tailevu South, Tailevu North, Serua, Nasinu and Lami taking part.
Bower adds the National Championship was held last year but this year it has gone back to the Divisional Championships which runs for three years before a National Championship is held.
